What is Evolutionary Astrology?

In response to the many questions I've been asked recently about my study of Evolutionary Astrology, here is a short overview compiled in collaboration with my teacher Maurice Fernandez.

Astrology is the study of the correlation between planetary and geocosmic cycles and cycles of life on earth. A very tangible example is the correlation between the Moon cycle and women's menstruation cycle. Astrology is the fusion between astronomical measurements and myths that represent archetypes of our psyche. As such it combines science with spirituality. Evolutionary Astrology is the study of astrology with a focus on understanding the spiritual meaning of our existence. It's focussed on answering Tolstoy’s big question “What meaning has life, that the inevitability of death does not destroy?”

An underlying assumption is the primary goal of evolving (refining) our consciousness so that we may realize the TRUTH – a process that cannot be completed in a single lifetime, but requires multiple incarnations. As our consciousness evolves, we realize more of the all encompassing Truth - that which governs existence and reflects the intelligent design of Creation. The Truth is the only thing that truly works, and realizing it in its entirety is a work in progress. Evolutionary Astrology describes through the natal chart where the soul is at in this evolutionary journey and what the current orientation and lessons are, for this life and for the current moment. What are my evolutionary intentions in this lifetime? What evolutionary lessons do I need to learn? What is my next step in my evolution? Decoding the astrology symbols of the chart will provide perspective on both the larger existential questions and the very practical day to day concerns. Questions range from "Why am I here" to "How do I make my relationship work", or simply "Is this the right profession for me". The astrology chart informs every aspect of our lives. Endeavouring to understand life from this perspective, helps us to better navigate life and guides us into making the best of our lives and living to our greater potential. Evolutionary Astrology provides a framework (tool) for conceptualising our evolutionary soul journey. It is one of the most effective tools to understand ourselves and life in the context of time. It is deep and precise knowledge that empowers us to overcome obstacles, find true meaning, break out of our limitations and transform our lives.
